We ask clients to give their clinician 48 hours notice if they need to cancel an appointment. Most insurances do not reimburse for missed appointments  However, at Mindworks Counseling we also realize that emergencies happen. Therefore, we allow each client one "emergency miss" during the course of their work with us. This means that if you let your clinician know that you would like to use your "emergency miss", you will not be charged for one visit that you cancel less than 48 hours ahead of time. As clinicians, we also may have to cancel an appointment occasionally and we will work with you to reschedule the appointment as soon as possible.

To cancel an appointment, please send your clinician an email as this is often the best way to reach us. You can also send us a message through the secure messaging system in the "Simple Practice" portal.

If you are scheduled for an in person visit and the weather prohibits you or your clinician from getting to the office safely, a telehealth visit can be conducted instead at the discretion of your clinician. Your clinician will be in communication with you to make these determinations. 

If you forget about an appointment and do not show up, your clinician will send you an email or a secure message through the "Simple Practice" portal. Please respond to your clinician as soon as possible so that we may continue to hold your next regularly scheduled appointment time.
